Randolph “Randy” Harris, GCM is a veteran football administrator who has dedicated decades to the development and advancement of football in Barbados and across the Caribbean.
Harris has served as President of the Barbados Football Association (BFA) since 2012, providing leadership during a period of continued development and modernization of the national game. In April 2024, he was elected to a fourth consecutive term, securing the mandate to lead the Association for the 2024–2028 period.
Throughout his tenure, Harris has advocated for stronger football development structures, improved opportunities for players, investment in grassroots and women’s football, coach and referee education, and greater collaboration among clubs and other stakeholders.
Harris’ contribution to football extends well beyond Barbados.
His experience within Caribbean football saw him rise through the leadership of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), initially serving on its executive structure before becoming President of the organization.
He has also served at the highest levels of Concacaf, including as a Vice President, representing Caribbean football within the confederation responsible for North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
These appointments have provided Barbados with representation within some of the most important decision-making structures in regional football.
In March 2025, Harris achieved another significant milestone when he became the first Barbadian elected to the FIFA Council.
His election represented an important achievement not only for the Barbados Football Association but also for Barbados, placing a Barbadian football administrator within FIFA’s principal decision-making body.
As a member of the FIFA Council, Harris contributes to the governance and strategic direction of world football while continuing to represent the interests and perspectives of Barbados and the wider Caribbean football community.
He also serves as a FIFA Council delegate to the FIFA Beach Soccer Committee.
At the national level, Harris continues to champion the development of football across Barbados.
His leadership places particular emphasis on strengthening the domestic game, creating opportunities for young players, improving national-team pathways, supporting clubs, expanding women’s football and raising standards throughout the football ecosystem.
Central to this approach is the belief that the development of Barbadian football requires cooperation between the Association, clubs, players, coaches, referees, administrators, volunteers, supporters and other stakeholders.
For Harris, football’s importance extends beyond results on the field. The game can provide young people with opportunities, discipline, personal development and pathways that can positively influence their lives and communities.
